Predictions
How does Luna predict my next period?
Luna learns from the periods you log. Recent cycles count more, and one unusually long or short cycle won’t throw it off. If you log ovulation tests, waking temperature or cervical mucus, Luna uses them to pinpoint ovulation, which makes the next prediction more accurate. Until you’ve logged two periods, it uses the cycle length you entered when you set up the app.
Why does Luna show a range instead of one date?
Bodies vary, so an honest prediction is a range. Luna shows the most likely day and an 80% range around it. The range gets narrower as Luna learns your pattern. It is wider if your cycles vary a lot, or if your health profile includes something like PCOS, perimenopause or breastfeeding.
Can I use Luna as birth control?
No. Luna’s fertile window is an estimate and cycles can change without warning, so Luna must not be used on its own to prevent pregnancy. A doctor, nurse or pharmacist can help you choose a reliable method.
I logged my period on the wrong day. How do I fix it?
On the Today screen, tap Started on a different day? Edit period dates. Or open the Calendar and tap Edit period dates, then tap days to add or remove them as period days. Luna updates its predictions straight away.
Your data
Where is my data stored?
Only on your phone. Luna has no accounts and doesn’t upload your logs. See the privacy policy for details.
How do I move Luna to a new phone?
On your old phone, go to Settings → Your data → Back up your data and save the file somewhere you can reach from the new phone, for example iCloud Drive, Google Drive or email to yourself. On the new phone, install Luna, then go to Settings → Your data → Restore from a backup and choose the file. App lock is set separately on each phone.
How do I delete all my data?
Go to Settings → Your data → Delete everything. This removes all logs, health details, settings and chats from your phone and can’t be undone. Deleting the app does the same. Because we never had your logs, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
How do I make a report for my doctor?
Go to Insights → Report for your doctor. Choose 3, 6 or 12 months and what to include, then tap Create PDF and send it with your phone’s share menu, or print it.
Ask Luna
What does Ask Luna send, and can I turn it off?
Your question and a short cycle summary, never your name or your full logs. You can switch it off any time in Settings → Privacy → Ask Luna (AI). The privacy policy lists exactly what is sent.
Ask Luna says I’ve reached today’s limit
To keep Ask Luna free and fair, each phone can ask up to 30 questions a day. The limit resets the next day. Everything else in Luna keeps working.
An Ask Luna answer seems wrong or harmful
Tap Report under the answer and choose what’s wrong. We review every report. The report includes that answer and your question, never your name or cycle data. Always check health decisions with a doctor or pharmacist.
Ask Luna isn’t answering
Check that you’re online, then try again in a moment. If it keeps failing, email us at support@lunahalfmoon.com.
Reminders and privacy settings
I’m not getting reminders
Make sure notifications are allowed for Luna in your phone’s Settings, then check the switches under Settings → Reminders in Luna. Reminders are based on your predictions, so they appear once Luna knows your last period.
Can I stop period details showing on my lock screen?
Yes. Discreet notifications is on by default and shows only “Luna reminder”. You can change it in Settings → Privacy.
How do I lock Luna?
Turn on App lock in Settings → Privacy. Luna will ask for Face ID, your fingerprint or your phone passcode when it opens.
